A Letter from the 2008 CCF President @ Southern Utah University!

I Encourage you to stand and pray for SUU.

NP,

When I went there SUU had it's struggles in dealing with the strong Mormon culture.  The Christian community was small, but we stuck together and were able to encourage and help each other throughout the different struggles.  When I went there it definitely caused me to take my walk much more seriously and know what and why I believed what I believed in.  I grew up in CA were being Christian was fine and no one really bothered you, luke warm Christianity was fine in most peoples eyes.  At SUU it is polar opposite, you had to take your faith seriously.  Unlike CA, when you said you were a Christian and not a Mormon they didn't just accept it, but rather started to question why you weren't Mormon.  Or they may say, "ohh we are Christian too" which once again you had to know what you believed in and the differences.  Initially I knew no one in Utah, but through my experience and through the grace of God I have learned and grown so much.  I would not trade my experience for anything, although it was hard and my family and friends thought I was crazy at times to stay.  Utah is a unique place where God is working.  I would definitely encourage you guys to take a look at SUU and be in prayer for the Christian students there!

May the Lord bless you and your ministry,

In Christ,

Kristen
